Mama's Bday- To the ZOO

Our entire family have been down with the flu for almost a month >_< yikes!
So, how did mama celebrate her bday this year? Well, mama requested to get her hair done one afternoon, and we wanted to head out, despite being sick!
Off to the Zoo on a sunny sunday!
We HAVE to see the playing pandas this time. Mama prayed hard, since they always saw them sleeping, twice!
Yay, they are up and awake!
Miya's new thing, kissing what she likes, especially her elmo picture book and her glow-worm
we saw baby giraffes, they are as tall as papa
I wish we could get closer. Mama had to Zoom in all the way to see the zebras.
Papa bought mama a surprise B-day Cake to celebrate with everyone!

Busy here and there

Autumn is finally here. There is no fall foliage in taiwan...but it's been sunny out! So, we head out to the park every afternoon for some Squirrel watching
My 1st tooth broke through @ 9M2W. I'm teething again.
So many of mama's friends are back from Shanghai & we have a rather packed week. Whenever mama needs a nap, I'm energized.
I find a toy and am motivated to play.
Pulling the ribbon off is fun
Chewing on tags, ribbons is just my thing
We met Sara for the 3rd time while she's in Taipei for coffee.
Lego blocks kept me busy while the ladies chat. The guy sitting next to me found it entertaining picking up anything I dropped off the high chair.
Thanks to a cup of latte, mama didn't get to sleep all night. Despite a lack of sleep, we went over to Hina's home for a play date since she will be going back to Japan for 2 weeks. We played tug of war and I lost.
My body temperature shot up above 38 degrees that night and got mama worried... It went away and came back again after a day... high above 39 degrees and went away again...
Luckily papa's back, I get hugged whenever I cried and fall back asleep.
So many people around me is down with the flu. Papa had one, mama is recovering.
@9M3W, it's my 1st time getting sick. I have a running nose and have been coughing.

Short Trip: Taichung

Papa & mama chose to stay in taiwan instead of going away to thailand for papa's company trip this year. So here we took a drove down south.
1st Stop: An old building that was once an optician turned into....
a library?!
nah.
Books? nah..these are all gift boxes of milk candies
That sales lady didn't know I'm too young for the sample of pineapple tart
Ice Cream parlor flocked with tourists
the grand entrance
After a looooong line, 3 scoops & 4 toppings -a pineapple tart, cheese cake, cookie & banana
One word YUM
Off we headed to grandpa's college,
that's the famous Luce chapel, designed by I.M Pei.
but I didn't like crawling on grass

Grandpa and grandma came along with us on the 1st day and headed back in the evening after dinner
We were all tired when we reached the hotel. Snoozed early as we will going swimming at the outdoor pool in the morning.
Caught in action while we had breakfast in the park by the natural science museum

This scene reminds mama of Central park somehow,
can you imagine how much she misses being in NYC?
Natural science museum has a glass forest that we went to, it's a mini version compared to the Cloud forest in Singapore. But hey, we paid less than 1 US dollars to get in. What a deal!
It was too hot to be outside
We headed indoors to the Top City mall for breastfeeding and lunch
Next stop, another mall.  Eslite bookstore to check out the famous "green"building
I napped while papa and mama explored the outdoor art exhibits. I slept through the 2nd half of the trip, and it was time to drive home when I woke up. I dislike being in the car seat even on short distances, let alone a 1 hour ride!

Happy 9 Months Old

I'm 9 months old today!
Mama wanted to take me along to her floral arrangement class but great-grandma insisted I stay home to keep her company.
No whining or crying for the 4 hours being away from mama!
Floral arrangement requires lots of patience. It helps mama calm down and focus. I'm not sure if mama can concentrate if I tagged along.
9 Months, my tooth is almost breaking through, not quite.
I get to do a lot more with my fingers. I don't stuff food into my mouth directly, I pull off a  small piece, for example: bread, and then put it in my mouth.  I can also pick up really tiny bread crumbs, before the dogs lick them off the floor!
My favorite part of the day, warm bubble bath + no diapers!
 So far, life is good
other than diaper rash.
We're off to Hsinchu tommorow & then a short 2 day trip to Taichung.
After that, mama needs to seriously get down & plan our Japan trip this coming Nov with papa.

Out & About

On weekends without any plans, we strolled along the National Taiwan University campus. It is still not cool enough to be outdoors. Mama and papa needed a drink, something cool
Stopped by Baby ballet kitchen, child-friendly cafe~
they offer kids baking classes but I'm still too young
There's a play area, filled with books
I get to ride a rocking horse but I was scared ><
Mama had a Tiracinno: tiramisu+cuppucinno, while I had a rice cracker

Sitting next to me is my 3 yr old cousin.
I get so excited when I see my cousin everytime I see her.
We had lunch together this past weekend.
this is the1st photo of us cousins
